Floor Schedule and Procedure

  • Suspension bills: Today, the House will consider six bills on the Suspension calendar.  Bills considered on the Suspension calendar are debatable for 40 minutes; may not be amended; and require a two-thirds vote for passage.  If recorded votes are requested on any Suspension bills, they will be postponed until 6:30 p.m.

    1. H.Res.61 - Observing and celebrating the Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr., and encouraging the people of the United States to celebrate the Birthday of Martin Luther King Jr., and his life and legacy (Rep. Lewis (GA) – Oversight and Government Reform)

    2. H.R. 188 - To provide a new effective date for applicability of certain provisions of law to Public Law 105-331 (Reps. Pallone, Frank, Frelinghuysen, Sires - Financial Services)
